There’s nothing quite like sweet, hydrating melon when you’re looking for some refreshment and energy! In this recipe, the naturally delicious flavors of the different melon varieties are accented with a squeeze of lime juice, lime zest, fresh mint, and a drizzle of raw honey. This melon salad not only tastes great; it’s also visually beautiful and is an incredible way to provide your body with vital nutrients and glucose.
Melon’s ability to hydrate blood all on its own means it can help an overburdened liver. The combination of melon’s unique living water content with its nutrient content allows the heart to work less; melons thin out dirty, toxic, fat-filled blood, allowing the heart to not overwork itself in pumping blood. This reduces some of the liver’s responsibility to protect the heart, which frees up the liver to focus on other important chemical functions that are needed in the moment.
